Raise the Barn

Not an album but a song from a talented singer-songwriter Mark Erelli. He’s put out some great albums and played with other talented artists. His monthly website posts include free downloads. I just listened to his freebie of the month, a song titled August. (right-click to download)

Whether you’re sitting on the front porch watching the evening come up, kicking back at the beach peering through your toes at your kids playing in the sand, or if you’ve just put your baby to sleep and uncorked a bottle of wine to share with your better half…this song is there waiting for you.

And if you’re not doing one of those things – this song will put you in that mood to just let life take place for a little while, pick a simple thing and just be. As it’s written, it’s not about anything happening – it’s about life that takes place when nothing is happening. I love that.
